Orion VII 07.501 Next Generation HEV
Three redesigned Orion VII 07.501 "Next Generation" hybrid electric vehicles, numbered 1292, 1294, and 1295, arrived at MTA Bus Baisley Park Depot in mid-2007. These prototype buses feature restyled front and rear ends complemented by frameless side windows. However, they are operationally identical to the earlier Orion VII old generation HEV buses.
As of this writing, only one Orion VII Next Generation HEV is currently in service -- 1292. It may be seen on Baisley Park's local routes -- the Q110, Q111, Q112, and Q113. The other two demonstrators have since been returned to Orion.
